In life, we often end up in situations due to our poor choices, instead of choosing what’s best for us.
Many times we allow unjust things, abusive relationships, wrong decisions, and choices to happen to us, instead of us thriving.
Instead of being pushed around in reality, you have the power to push things around in situations. That power is in PRAYER. When we are saved, we have the power to alter our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. Powerful people can live their lives.
Christ wants to co-labor with us. God has given Christ Jesus all authority and power in heaven and on earth. (Matthew 28:18) He has all power for what? Christ wants to share that with us! That power is in prayer.
Someone asked me, “I don’t know what’s best for me.” I said, “It’s like we are watching cable TV with HD quality and a surround sound system. All of a sudden the cable line is cut by the bad neighbor, but we are still watching TV without any color imagery. All that is on TV turns into white snow and an awful static noise. But we are still watching TV because we are so used to “watching TV”.
This doesn’t make sense, and it sounds silly, right? Well, that’s what many of us do when we let dysfunctional things or people happen to us or push us around, instead of pushing them around situations. You need to have that power to get up out of your chair, reconnect your cable lines, and rebuke your bad neighbor, then get back to your HD TV. That power is found in prayer!
